Taitem provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural and fire protection design and construction phase services for the fit-out of the building and was the primary NYSERDA New Construction Program energy consultant. Taitem also provided commissioning services. The project was featured in the Foodservice Consultant Society International (FCSI) annual Project Showcase which highlights project designs from around the world.
Greenstar Cooperative Market
GreenStar is a food cooperative, collectively owned by over 12,000 member-owners, which provides the community with a food market, café and deli. As part of a large expansion project, Greenstar moved their marketplace to this 33,000SF building.
The project included the conversion of existing warehouse space to a supermarket with retail space, offices, a café, a commercial kitchen, meeting spaces, and other amenities and called for an energy-efficient design targeting deep energy savings.
